We’ve been publishing a series of photos of a border at the south side of city hall (near Starbucks) beginning in March and continuing through the summer at roughly one or two month intervals (late March, early May, early July & late July). To the best of my knowledge this border is entirely perennial and hasn’t had any plants added to it over the season yet it has continued to provide a full appearance and lots of colour all summer. It’s a good example of what we could achieve in our own gardens to provide colour over a long period with a minimum of maintenance. To me it has, somewhat, the appearance of an English cottage garden border (for which I have a weakness). It will be interesting to see how long it will continue.

Here are two more photos of it taken on or about August 29.
